Sekhar gets contract extension
18th November 2016
Following Bengal's good performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, Cricket Association of Bengal has renewed its contract with ex- Indian pacer, T. A. Sekhar, as the bowling consultant of the vision 2020 camp.
Sekhar has been the bowling coach since its inception two years back.
“It was a great decision taken by Sourav Ganguly. These camps don't produce immediate results, but the way the team is playing is really good. They have done quite well so far this season. I hope they will do well against Baroda in the next match,” said Sekhar
Asked about the possibility of Mukesh Kumar playing the next match, “He is a talented cricketer. Unlucky, he broke his finger while practicing in the nets. I feel he should get a chance in the next match. But I am not the selector. It is up to them to decide who will play and who will not,” he said.
Praising CAB President Sourav Ganguly, he said, “It was a unique decision taken by him to start such a camp. No other cricket association has come up with such an idea for creating a player’s pool. This is helping Bengal cricket a lot,” he said.
