Writam smashes triple ton to put Bhowanipore ahead

Writam Porel smashed triple hundred to take Bhowanipore to a mammoth 627 in 115 overs against Netaji Subhas Institute (NSI) in a CAB first division league match today here in Maidan.
Starting the day at 218, he went on to score 308 off 322 balls to take Bhowanipore to a commendable position in the match. Coming out to bat NSI ended the day at 217 for 4 in 47.4 overs.
“Unlike last day, the wicket was turning this morning, so I had to pace down my innings a bit, before it eased out gradually. I was patient, waiting for the loose deliveries to put them away,” Porel said to CAB Media in the post match session.
“I believe cricket is a team game, so am feeling happy that I was able to contribute to the team’s cause, also, I hope to carry on with this form in the matches to come.” he added.
On the other hand, East Bengal thrashed Tollygunge by 10 wickets, bagging in ten points. After bundling the latter at 189 in the second innings, it took only 3.2 over for East Bengal to wrap up the match with all wickets intact. Aritra Chatterjee remained the highest wicket taker bagging 5 for 41 runs.
Also, Pramod Chandila hit 218 off 185 balls against United Club to take Kalighat to a massive 575 in 108.4 overs. Trailing by 395 runs, United ended the day at 180 for 4 in 48 overs.
Among the others scoring hundreds were Ashish Yadav (136), Anurag Tyagi (104), Biman Ghosh (128), Dipak Prasad (126), and Surinder Dahiya unbeaten at 106 runs. In the bowling department, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal, Tansu Shome, Sandeep Yadav and Mithun Mukherjee bagged five wickets each for their respective sides.
