Suvankar put Police on top

Suvankar Bal smashed a double hundred to put Police Athletic ahead against Indian Boys in a CAB first division league match today here in Maidan. After Police declared at 695 for 5 in 100 overs in the first innings, Indian Boys ended the day at 125 for 4. Suvankar hit 208 of 151 balls.
"It was a turning track, so scoring runs were not easy. It took time for me settle down, before things started to ease out gradually," said Suvankar to CAB media.
"I believe consistency is the key element in any sport. So scoring a double hundred isn't enough. Yes, it feels good when you get runs but I know will have to better my batting and improve in the games ahead," he added.
Subhankar played for Aikya Sammilani last season, before signing in to Police Club this year.
On the other hand, while, Surojit Jadav and Sourav Paul hit hundreds for Calcutta Customs ending up the day at 353 for 3 in 90 overs, leading E. Rly Sports by 123 runs, Ayush Das's 192 off 245 balls helped wari to establish a massive 518 for 9, playing their full quota against Netaji Subhash Institute (NSI). NSI ended the day at 150 for 2 in 51 overs.
Among the others getting hundreds for their respective sides were, Subham Sarkar, Abhinav Dixit, Pramod Chandila, Anup Barik, Shadan Ahamed, Sk. Asif Hossain and Gopal Nain unbeaten at 100.
