Five double hundreds in first division

It was one of those days in first division cricket that saw five players hitting double tons in Maidan.
While Rumit Sengupta scored 237 off 283 balls taking Young Bengal's Sporting Association to 543 in 114.2 overs, Purab Joshi added 52 runs more to his last night total to end up at 277, taking Barisha Sporting to a commendable 536 for 3 in 98.4 overs.
Among the others scoring double hundreds were Naveed Ahmed, Soumya Ghosh and Aditya Verma unbeaten at 227.
However, the bowlers also looked good in the day with Pradeep Parasar taking 7 wickets for 100 runs, restricting Calcutta Customs for 423 in 114.1 overs.
On the other hand, while Ramesh Prasad bagged 6 for 83 to bundle George Telegraph at 290 in 108.4 overs, Umir Khan took 6 for 120, restricting Bhukailash Sporting at 224 in 107 overs.
