Bengal Women suffers a narrow defeat

Bengal Senior Women's team lost the way towards the end as they suffered a 9-run defeat to Tripura
in their Group C ties in the Senior Women's One Day League at the Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kalyani. 
Chasing 186,Bengal was cruising at 152 for 3 when Deepti departed on 77. With 33 runs needed in last 7.3 overs, Bengal lost wickets at regular interval leaving 173/7.Mandira Mahapatra and Richa tried to steady the ship,but the damage was done. Bengal lost last three wickets on 176, as they came back from the jaws of victory.
Earlier,choosing to bat first Tripura Deepti broke 79-run opening partnership by picking up Indra Rani Jamatia.Tripura was going well at 162/3,Nisha Majhi continued her impressive performance but a late surge by Bengal bowlers restricted the visitors to 185/8 in 50 overs. by scalping 3 wickets, while Tanushree Sarkar,Deepti and Paramita Roy picked a wicket each.
