Bengal Women off to a flying start

6th December 2017
The Bengal senior women's team thrashed Jammu and Kashmir by ten wickets in their Group C ties in the Senior Women's One Day League at the Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kalyani.
What could have been a better start to the season than clinching 5 wickets in a debut match by young Nisha Majhi. A fabulous display of spin bowling with a 5 wicket haul to her credit, young Nisha's bowling figure reads a stunning 10-3-19-5.
While the Bengal bowlers did an outstanding job reducing Jammu's innings within a meagre 96, the openers reaped all the harvest. The opening duo, Deepti Sharma and Aparna Mondol didn't fall short of expectations hitting the ball around the ground in harmony remaining undefeated during the chase. While the former played a fabulous innings of 55 runs the latter was no less scoring an unrivalled 35.
Other than the outstanding display of bowling by the debutant Majhi, skipper Tanushree Sarkar and teammates Paromita Roy, Deepti Sharma and Priya Pandey took a wicket each.
