Bengal to second win in Vijay Hazare Trophy

A fine bowling effort by Mukesh Kumar followed by a dominant batting display by Abishek Porel powered Bengal to a six-wicket victory over Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite on Monday.
Mukesh bagged 5 for 59 in 10 overs, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in List A cricket while Abishek Porel’s 84-ball 106 helped him score his second List A century. Shahbaz Ahmed also impressed with superb all-round show.
Put into bat, Chandigarh posted 319 in 48.2 overs, thanks to skipper Manan Vohra (122) and Sanyam Saini (67).
Besides Mukesh, Md Shami (3-69), Shahbaz (2-51) were the pick of the Bengal bowlers.
In reply, Bengal went over the line scoring 320/4 in 47.4 overs. Shahbaz (76 not out off 61), Anustup Majumdar (63 off 70), Abhimanyu Easwaran (25) and Sumanta Gupta (22 not out off 15) were the star batters as Bengal registered second win in the campaign.
