No room for complacency for Bengal
23rd November 2017
There is no place for complacency for a focussed Bengal as they look for full points against Goa in their last league match in Group D of Ranji Trophy at Eden Gardens from Saturday.
The Bengal players looked confident after bouncing back against Punjab in a tough condition. Being on the verge of proceeding to knock-out stage, Bengal want to make sure no more hiccups in the way. While, Ashoke Dinda led Bengal pace department bowled extensively at the nets, spinners also rolled their hands on a greenish deck.
However, in-form Ishan Porel, who will miss the tie due to India U-19 challenger trophy commitment, bent his back. Post-bowling session, left arm spinner Pradipta Pramanik and right arm spinner Aamir Gani bowled seperately under the supervision of Sairaj Bahutule.
The batters nurtured their skills against both spin and seam attack. While, skipper Manoj Tiwary took throw-down at a separate net for 20 minutes, others followed him. The lower-order batsmen chipped in with valuable runs in previous matches and want to continue this as they batted for 15-20minutes at the nets.
In previous match, Bengal lost two wickets at crucial times running themselves out and they do not want to replicate this as the batsmen tried to improve their running between wicket.
Assuming a lively deck which will yield a lot of edges, Bengal camp emphasised on slip catches as well as close-in catches.
