Karan’s blazing 50-ball 113 powers Bengal to stunning
win in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Karan Lal smashed a brilliant match-winning 113 off just 50 balls as Bengal went past Himachal Pradesh by 5 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Enroute his ton, Karan hit 10 sixes and 8 fours. Abishek Porel (41 off 26), Sudip Kr Gharami (18 not out off 8) and Akash Deep (17 not out off 5) helped Bengal chase down a challenging total.
After their third win in four games, Bengal have 12 points in Elite Group C.
Batting first at the Gymkhana Ground, Himachal Pradesh scored 208/5 in 20 overs. Ekant Sen (89) top-scored for Himachal.
For Bengal, Shahbaz (3-36), Md Shami (1-31), Mukesh Kumar (1-41) were the pick of the bowlers.
Chasing the target, Abishek and Karan gave Bengal a flying start with a 100-plus opening stand. After Abishek’s dismissal, Karan kept scoring freely as Bengal went over the line comfortably, scoring 212/5 in 18.4 overs.
