Bengal storm into quarterfinals of Women’s U23 T20

Bengal sealed a place in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Under-23 T20 Trophy Elite after winning five successive matches in the group stage.
In their final Elite Group D game against J&K in Nagpur on Monday, Bengal won the match by 66 runs to remain unbeaten in the tournament. Bengal made the last-eight stage, topping the group with 20 points from five games.
Batting first, Bengal scored 139 in 18.5 overs. Prativa Mandi (45 off 42), Sushmita Ganguly (25 off 16), Sujata Dey (24 off 17) were the star batters for Bengal.
In reply, J&K managed only 73/7 in 20 overs. Piyali Ghosh (2-7), Payal Vakharia (2-10) and Titas Sadhu (2-12) were the pick of the Bengal bowlers.
