Bengal went down to Tamil Nadu by 101 runs in the semifinals of the Men’s U23 State A Trophy Elite on Saturday.
Put into bat at the Wankhede Stadium, Tamil Nadu, after early struggles, managed to post 238 in 49.4 overs. Manav Parakh (92) and Sunny (63) played fighting knocks.
For Bengal, Ravi Kumar was the pick of the bowlers bagging 5 for 46 while Dilshad Khan and Irshad Alam claimed two each.
In reply, Bengal were bowled out for 137 in 38.3 overs. Shashank Singh top-scored with a fine 49.
