South Africa may have had the last laugh in the ICC Women's World Cup match on Thursday, but India wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh's fighting knock under pressure will be remembered for a long time.
With India in a spot of bother at 102/6, Richa stepped in at No.8.
The hard-hitting right-handed batter came to the team’s rescue, smashing a brilliant 94 off just 77 balls with 11 boundaries and 4 sixes to take India's total to a fighting 251 which looked almost impossible when she came in to bat.
Richa's score is the highest while batting at No. 8 or lower in Women’s ODIs.
At the end, South Africa chased the target down to win the match by 3 wickets.
