Irshad hat-trick powers Bengal into final of U-23 Inter

Riding on a brilliant all-round show, Bengal outclassed Himachal Pradesh by 2 runs in their final league match in Pondicherry on Friday to enter the final of the Under-23 Men’s Inter State Multi-Day (Two-Day) Tournament (Siechem Trophy).
Bengal, after four wins from five league games, next face Chhattisgarh in the summit clash on Sunday.
Irshad Alam (6-74), who was awarded the player of the match, claimed a brilliant hat-trick to dismantle the Himachal batting line-up.
Batting first, Bengal posted a competitive 291, thanks to Shashank Singh (128) and Sukhmeet Singh (49 not out).
In reply, Himachal Pradesh fell short, scoring 289 in 84.3 overs. Amanpreet Singh scored 103.
Besides Irshad, Dilshad Khan, Sukhmeet, Debangshu Pakhira claimed one wicket each for Bengal.
