Bengal bag GCA-Reliance U-19 multi-day title,
clinch 3rd successive pre-season trophy

Riding on a dominant all-round performance, Bengal clinched the GCA-Reliance Men’s Under-19 All India Invitation (3-day) Tournament after a one-sided final match against Gujarat 1 in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Bengal bagged first innings lead after the match against Gujarat 1 was drawn. Bengal U-19 team were awarded a prize money of Rs 2 Lakh for winning the title.
The victory helped Bengal U-19 team bag their third successive pre-season title. Earlier, the team had clinched the U-19 Inter State One-Day & Multi-day Tournaments (Siechem Trophy).
After posting 355 in their first innings, Bengal restricted Gujarat 1 to 206/9 decl to gain a vital lead.
In their second innings, Bengal scored 148 to hand a challenging target to Gujarat 1. Chasing the total, Gujarat 1 managed only 119/8 at stumps on the third and final day.
Kushal Gupta (5-39), Sayan Paul (2-47) and Ashutosh Kumar (1-25) were superb with the ball for Bengal.
Sayan was awarded the player of the match for his crucial 55 runs and five wickets in the match.
