A superb bowling performance helped
Cathedral Mission High School outclass St Johns Public School by 112 runs in the summit clash on Thursday to emerge champions of the Inter School Under-15 Cricket Tournament Mayor’s Cup.
Chasing 185 to win, St Johns Public School were bundled out for 72 in 23.4 overs at JU, 2nd Campus Ground, Salt Lake. Shubham Kumar Prasad top-scored with 34 runs.
Pragyamoy Chakraborty was brilliant with the ball bagging 6 for 26 while Akash Yadav (3-25) and Subhankar Roy (1-1) were also impressive for Cathedral Mission High School.
Earlier, put into bat, Cathedral Mission High School were bowled out for 184 in 73.2 overs. Subhra Kamal Halder (38) and Akash (35) were the pick of the batters.
For St Johns Public School, Piyush Karan (4-68) and Ayush Kr Prasad (3-29) were the star bowlers.
The final presentation ceremony was a star-studded one. The champions and the runners-up team players were felicitated by a host of top CAB officials and members. Present for the ocassion were CAB President Mr Snehasish Ganguly, CAB Treasurer Mr Prabir Chakraborty, CAB Tour Fixture and Technical Committee Chairman Mr Sanjay Das, Mr Biswarup Dey, CAB School Sub Committee Chairman Mr Sanjoy Dutta, CAB Observers Committee Chairman Srimanta Kumar Mallick, Mr Robi Mitra, CAB Junior Selection Committee members, CAB Talent Hunt Committee members, Mr Ranjit Roy along with a host of other CAB officials and members.
