In the CAB Second Division League pre-quarterfinal encounters on Wednesday, both the bowlers and batters dominated on Day 1.
In the first match, Dipanshu Sarkar smashed a brilliant 130 off 121 balls as Star Sporting Club scored 281. Souvik Mitra (4-103), Lucky Nishan Pradhan (3-75) and Ram Sen (3-56) impressed. Taltala Ekata Sangha were 46/3 at stumps. Atmaja Mondal scored 36. Dipanshu bagged 3 wickets.
In other matches, Jayjeet Jaiswal scored a fine 117 as Calcutta Cricket Club scored 266 at stumps. For Taltala Institute, Sk Siddik bagged 4 wickets.
Baranagar Sporting Club’s Suraj Karmakar bagged 6 for 87. Akshay Chauhan (49) helped Cricket Club of Bhowanipore score 236. Baranagar Sporting Club scored 49/1 at stumps.
Subhadip Sarkar (5-51), Rohan Saha (51), Sumit Das (4-49) helped Vijay Sports Club beat Friends Sporting Union by 8 wickets. Friends Sporting Union scored 130. Vijay Sports Club scored 131/2.
Amit Biswas (71), Monomit Mitra (4-54), Sarit Datta (4-36) helped Suburban Club beat West Bengal Police Sports Club by 6 wickets. West Bengal Police Sports Club scored 136. Suburban Club scored 139/4.
Pranjal Das (74), Harsh Pandey (57), Soubhagya Sundar Pakreh (52) helped Balak Sangha post 235/7 at stumps. Wari Athletic Club’s Tushar Mondal bagged 4 for 97.
Subhadip Barman (58), Manish Singh Rawat (54) helped Behala Friends Union Club post 214. Subhadip Bhattacharya bagged 3 for 72. Jorabagan Club were 8/0 at stumps.
Sachin Kumar Singh (72), Rajveer Roy (46) helped White Border Club post 302. Kaushik Deb bagged 5 for 61. In reply, Aurora Athletic Association were 1/0 at stumps.
