Sri Lankans ready for Indian challenge
9th November 2017
The Lankan Lions signalled their arrival for three tests through a rigorous regime of two and half hours at Jadavpur University cricket ground today.
The Lankans showed football skills in the warm-up, before going through fielding and batting drills. They emphasised more on playing spinners rather than facing fast bowlers at the nets.
However, Sri Lankan bowlers abstained from bowling at the nets except Lakshan Sandakan. The chinaman bowled a long spell and generated sharp turns pitching the ball at good length areas.
Asked about the challenges in the series, Sri Lakan skipper, Dinesh Chandimal said, ''India have been playing well over two years. We're doing hard work in the nets. We really have a great opportunity in this series. Our boys are looking forward to take challenges.''
Nic Pothas, the coach of Sri Lanka, said, ''India is at the peak now. But we are concentrating on our strengths. If we can execute plan well, it'll be a challenging series.''
