In the CAB Second Division League First Round encounters on Saturday, both the batters and bowlers dominated on Day 1.
In the first match, riding on a brilliant 188 by Nitya Nanda Maji, West Bengal Police Sports Club scored 379. Bansdroni Young Bengal Sporting Association’s Rudranil Bhakat bagged 5 wickets.
In other matches, superb tons by Lohit Singh (160) and Sagar Dey (116 not out) helped Aurora Athletic Association post 438/6 at stumps. For Narkeldanga Sir Gooroodas Institute, Partha Kundu bagged 3 wickets.
Subhadip Barman (125) and Pradunya Sarkar (124) smashed brilliant centuries as Behala Friends Union Club scored 397/9 at stumps. For National Athletic Club, Pulak Mazumder bagged 4 wickets.
Taltala Institute’s Sahul bagged 6 for 38. Victoria Sporting Club scored 248, thanks to Om Bhagat (86). In reply, Taltala Institute were 85/1 at stumps. Kingkar Roy scored 37.
Kumar Vishvas bagged a brilliant 6 for 74 as Gymkhana bowled out White Border Club for 247. Tamoghna Ghosh (77) and Sachin Kumar Singh (66) impressed. In reply, Gymkhana were 93/4 at stumps. Amit Kumar Saha bagged 3 wickets.
Anurag Roy (104) and Abhijoy Saha (101) helped Baranagar Sporting Club post 495 at stumps. For Measurers Club, Md Shahab Alam bagged 5 for 141.
Soumyadeep Poddar (101) and Sourav Kumar Prasad (58) helped Taltala Ekata Sangha post 345/9 at stumps. For Alipore Sporting Club, Ankit Saroj bagged 3 wickets.
Mauri Sporting Club’s Indrajeet Singh bagged 6 for 96. Soumyadip Roy (64) helped Wari Athletic Club post 257. Mauri Sporting Club were 58/2 at stumps.
Bhupinder Singh bagged 6 for 117 as International Club bowled out Friends Sporting Union for 266. Piyush Raj scored 88. International Club were 66/3 at stumps.
Sayak Jana (66, 2-28), Ankit Mandal (3-34), Rakesh Mahata (2-40), Purab Joshi (53) helped Calcutta Cricket Club beat City AC by 8 wickets. City AC scored 171, thanks to Tripto Sur (70). Calcutta Cricket Club scored 172/2.
Alok Sharma bagged an impressive 5 for 14 as Suburban Club beat South Suburban Club by 7 wickets. South Suburban Club scored 103. Suburban Club scored 104/3.
Dipanshu Sarkar bagged a superb 5 for 49 also scoring vital 33 runs as Star Sporting Club beat Bantra Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Bantra Cricket Club scored 134, thanks to Sachin Sharma (67). Star Sporting Club scored 135/3.
Sudip Ghosh (86), Supriyo Sil (77), Soumya Ghosh (50) helped Cricket Club of Bhowanipur post 293/9 at stumps. Suraj Sinha (4-63) impressed with the ball. In reply, Howrah Union scored 11/0 at stumps.
Soubhagya Sundar Pakreh (4-52) and Soumyajit Dutta (3-50) helped Balak Sangha bowl out YMCA (Chow Br) for 181. Arka Rudra scored 55. Balak Sangha scored 122/5 at stumps. Rudraneel Das bagged 3 wickets.
