In the CAB Second Division League encounters on Monday, the batters dominated the bowlers on Day 1.
In the Qualifier Round matches, riding on brilliant knocks by Mayank Lakhmani (198) and Sanjay Nishad (103 not out), Friends Sporting Union scored 449/5 at stumps against George Telegraph Sports Club. Akhilesh Yadav scored 66.
Sk Md Sharukh scored a fine 167 off 145 balls as Cricket Club of Dhakuria posted 315. Najeebul Khan (4-103) and Suraj Sinha (3-50) impressed. Howrah Union were 65/1 at stumps.
Tarun Verma (133), Nirbhay (54) helped South Suburban Club post 370/9 at stumps. For Sarat Samity, Ayush Gupta bagged 3 for 67.
Sahini Raj (75), Kanhaiya Soni (65) helped National Athletic Club post 254/8 at stumps. For Ariadaha Sporting Club, Rajesh Yadav and Harihar Sarkar bagged 2 wickets each.
In the Round One matches, Saikat Bala (145) and Nirmal Acharjee (101) batted superbly as Vijay Sports Club scored 395. Rahul Patel (4-71) and Bhagirath Rajwar (3-90) impressed. Burnpur Cricket Club scored 91/3 at stumps.
Sahapur Sporting Club scored just 176. Subhadip Bhattacharya (3-51) and Asish Pathak (2-25) were the pick of the bowlers. Jorabagan Club were 80/0 at stumps, thanks to Biswarup Pandey (59 not out).
