In the CAB First Division League Group C encounters on Monday, both the bowlers and batsmen dominated on Day 1.
In the first match, Aakash Singh scored a brilliant unbeaten 113 as Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club scored 231/5 in 50 overs at stumps after the match was reduced to 66 overs-a-side. Sagar Sharma scored 45. For Monohar Pukur Milan Samity, Vishal Bhati bagged 2 wickets.
In other matches, Rahul Chowdhary scored a fine 110 off 102 balls as Anandabazar Patrika Sports Club scored 261. Biplab Roy Chowdhury and Hrishav Sil bagged 4 wickets each. Indian Boys Athletic Club were 23/1 at stumps.
Rajasthan Club’s Harsh Dev Gautam bagged a superb 6 for 79. Dalhousie Athletic Club scored 304, thanks to Sunil Dalal (83), Sukriti Jana (57). Rajasthan Club scored 30/0 at stumps.
Avinash Varma bagged an impressive 5 for 35 as Shambazar Club beat Netaji Subhas Institute by 8 wickets. Netaji Subhas Institute were bundled out for 86. Soham Ghosh bagged 3 wickets. Shambazar Club scored 87/2, thanks to Aditya Varma (55 not out).
Shekhar Singh Chauhan scored a fighting 84 as Sporting Union posted 223. Saurabh Tripathi (4-49), Ariyan Gowala (3-80) impressed. Uttarpalli Milan Sangha were 14/1 at stumps.
Rahamat Gayen (47) helped YMCA (College Branch) post 257/9 at stumps. For Calcutta Police Club, Noman Manzoor bagged 4 for 96.
