CAB HONORS AN 'ERA': 'Silent Warrior' Wriddhiman
felicitated in grand fashion at Eden Gardens

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) today felicitated and honored iconic wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha for his immense contribution to Indian and Bengal cricket.
Wriddhiman, called time on his illustrious cricketing career, after Bengal’s innings and 13-run victory over Punjab in their final Ranji Trophy group match at the Eden Gardens.
Wriddhiman was presented with a specially designed wicket-keeping gloves, flower bouquet and a shawl as CAB honored one of its favourite sons.
Speaking on the occasion after felicitating Wriddhiman, CAB President Snehasish Ganguly said, “We have gathered here to celebrate and honor an ‘Era’. A cricketer who has played his game quietly, a silent warrior, who always believed in his ability, having faith in himself and proved his ability time and when required. He is someone who believed in his wicket-keeping, fitness and remained 100 percent fit in his playing days."
The man of the moment, Wriddhiman said, “I thank CAB for organizing such a wonderful evening for me. I thank all the office bearers of CAB and everyone who were involved in my journey. Playing for Bengal has been a wonderful experience and it will remain with me for years to come. The memories I have created these long years will be cherished for the rest of my life.”
Former India captain and cricket legend Sourav Ganguly praising Wriddhiman said, “He has been one of the finest wicket-keepers India have ever produced. The achievements he has had are incredible. I want to take the opportunity to congratulate Wriddhiman for an outstanding career and I wish him all the best in the days to come.”
Video messages were also sent by iconic Indian cricketers VVS Laxman, Jhulan Goswami, Dinesh Karthik, Shikhar Dhawan while Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Anustup Majumdar, Deep Dasgupta, Wriddhiman’s childhood coach Jayanta Bhowmick, who were present for the evening, also congratulated Wriddhiman.
Wriddhiman also received special awards which was sent by his five IPL teams.
CAB Vice President Amalendu Biswas, CAB Treasurer Prabir Chakrabarty, CAB Hony Joint Secretary Debabrata Das also congratulated Wriddhiman for his incredible career. Also present for the ocassion were CAB committee members and officials.
