In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Friday, both the batsmen and bowlers impressed on the third and final day.
In the first match, Barisha Sporting Club bagged first innings lead after their match against Bhowanipur Club ended in a draw. Sumanta Gupta (191) helped Barisha Sporting Club post 529/7 in their first innings. In reply, Bhowanipur Club scored 462. Shakir Habib Gandhi (186), Jayojit Basu (57) and Abhishek Raman (52) impressed. Ankit Mishra bagged 5 for 172. Barisha Sporting Club, in their second innings, scored 64/3 decl.
In other matches, Mohun Bagan AC bagged first innings lead after their match against United Club ended in a draw. Rishabh Chaudhary (150 not out) and Aniket Singh (133 not out) batted superbly as United Club, following on in their second innings, scored 454/3 at stumps. Earlier, Mohun Bagan posted 539/6 in their first innings. In reply, United Club were bundled out for 183.
Shreyan Chakrabarty (5-42), Vikas Singh (3-5), Sumit Mohanta (2-23) and Satyaki Dutta (132) impressed as East Bengal Club beat Kidderpore Sporting Club by 7 wickets. After bowling out Kidderpore Sporting Club for 334, East Bengal Club scored 379 in their first innings. Akhilesh Yadav bagged 6 wickets, East Bengal went over the line scoring 33/3.
Md Sporting Club bagged first innings lead after their match against Tapan Memorial Club ended in a draw. Sambit Roy (144) and Chinmay Jain (117) helped Md Sporting Club post 441 in their first innings after bowling out Tapan Memorial Club for 334. Ramesh Prasad bagged 5 for 104. Tapan Memorial Club, in their second innings, were 94/4 at stumps.
Town Club bagged first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Customs Club ended in a draw. Avirup Gupta (126), Aishik Patel (65) helped Town Club post 430/5 in their first innings. Sandipan and Nuruddin Mondal bagged 2 wickets each. Earlier, Calcutta Customs Club posted 307/8 in their first innings.
