In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Saturday, both the batsmen and bowlers impressed, displaying some dominant performances.
In the first match, Vivek Singh smashed a brilliant 172 off 165 balls along with Arindam Ghosh (117 not out) as Bhowanipur Club posted 417/5 in their first innings at stumps on Day 2. Saksham Sharma and Pawan Nirwani bagged 2 wickets each. Earlier, Kidderpore Sporting Club scored 249 in their first innings.
In other matches, Kazi Junaid Saifi (118) and Chandrahas Dash (82 not out) helped Barisha Sporting Club post 415/8 in their first innings. For United Club, Irshad Alam (4-91) and Sukhmeet Singh (3-86) impressed. In reply, United Club were 60/3 at stumps on Day 2. Ankit Mishra bagged 2 wickets.
Md Sporting Club posted 307 in their first innings. Sumit Mohanta bagged 5 for 40. In reply, East Bengal Club scored 311 at stumps on Day 2. Shreyan Chakraborty (66), Writtick Chatterjee (49) and Satyaki Dutta (47) impressed with the bat. Nilkantha Das, Aritra Chatterjee and Toufik bagged 3 wickets each.
Kalighat Club bagged first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Customs Club ended in a draw. After posting 280 in their first innings, Kalighat Club bowled out Calcutta Customs Club for 192. Ravi Kant Singh bagged 5 for 59. Kalighat, in their second innings were 250/4 at stumps on Day 3. Subham Chatterjee (77) and Writam Porel (72) impressed.
Subham Sarkar (76), Mithilesh Das (35 not out) helped Town Club post 356/9 in their first innings. In reply, Tapan Memorial Club were 212/6 at stumps on Day 2. Ayush Das scored a fine 93. Yash Garg bagged 3 wickets.
