In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Wednesday, both the batters and bowlers dominated, display some outstanding performances.
In the first match, Vivek Singh (126) and Arindam Ghosh (119 not out) batted superbly as Bhowanipore Club posted 323/7 in their first innings at stumps on Day 1. For Kalighat Club, Arun Chaprana bagged 5 for 73.
In other matches, Arikta Das scored a brilliant 120 along with Abhishek Tamang (59) as Calcutta Customs Club posted 311/8 in their first innings. For East Bengal Club, Vikas Singh bagged 4 for 66. In reply, East Bengal Club were 135/6 at stumps on Day 2. Satyaki Dutta (33) and Writtick Chatterjee (33) impressed. Sandipan bagged 3 or 46.
Kazi Junaid Saifi (123), Priyank Patel (86), Chandrahas Dash (40 not out) helped Barisha Sporting Club posted a massive 423/6 in their first innings. For Kidderpore Sporting Club, Akhilesh Yadav bagged 3 for 115. In reply, Kidderpore Sporting Club were 173/6 at stumps on Day 2. Deepak Punia scored 74 not out. Sarasij Mukherjee and Ankit Mishra bagged two wickets each.
Sandeep Tomar (75) and Subham Sarkar (50 not out) helped Town Club post 271/9 in their first innings at stumps on Day 2. For United Club, Jeet Thakur bagged 4 for 66. Earlier, Geet Puri (3-46), Yash Garg (3-73) and Subham Sarkar (2-50) were superb with the ball as Town Club bundled out United Club for 224 in their first innings.
Mehul Chaudhary (74), Anurag Tiwari (53 not out) and Suvankar Bal (50) helped Mohun Bagan AC post 277 in their first innings. For Md. Sporting Club, Aritra Chatterjee bagged 5 for 75 while Vaibhav Yadav claimed three wickets. In reply, Md. Sporting Club were 177/5 at stumps on Day 2. Gitimoy Basu (56) and Abhishek Bose (40) impressed. For Mohun Bagan, Anurag Tiwari bagged 3 for 56.
