CAB pays last respecy to Phatik da

Former CAB Working Committee member Akshay Banerjee lovingly called Phatik Da passed away today. He was 81.
His mortal remains was brought to the B C Roy Clubhouse in the afternoon where the association office bearers and members paid their tribute.
"His death has come as a shock. He was a part of the Cricket Association of Bengal when it was growing in prominence. He was not keeping well for some time now. But his death comes as a heart-breaking news," said Abhishek Dalmiya, Jt Secy CAB while paying his tribute to the deceased.
Tributes were also paid by Chairman Trustee Board Gautam Dasgupta, former CAB office bearers Saradindu Pal and Biswarup De.
Akshay Banerjee was a working committee member from 1976 to 78 and 1982 to 84. He was a Member Finance sub committee 1978 to 80. He was also involved in coaching from 1980 to 82 and 1984 to 86. He was also a member of the Ground sub-committee 1982 to 84.
He had incidentally worked very closely with Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya during his various tenures as a CAB Sub Committee member
A social organisation Refuge present on the occasion presented Phatik da's daughters with Jagmohan Dalmiya Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously.
