Gharami hits unbeaten 107 as Bengal
outclass Bihar in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Leading from the front, Sudip Kumar Gharami smashed a brilliant unbeaten 107 off 128 balls to power Bengal to a dominant six-wicket victory over Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Hyderabad on Friday.
After their fourth victory in five games so far, Bengal remain in top of Group E with 18 points. The Laxmi Ratan Shukla-coached side next face Madhya Pradesh in their final group-game on Sunday. A win against MP, will guide Bengal into the quarterfinals.
Enroute his fourth List A ton, skipper Gharami hit 13 boundaries and one six. Pradipta Pramanik (3-34), Karan Lal (2-23) and Mukesh Kumar (2-57) were superb with the ball for Bengal.
Batting first, Bihar were bowled out for 235 in 49 overs. Piyush Kumar Singh scored 89 off 112. Mohammad Shami, Sayan Ghosh and Kaushik Maity also bagged a wicket each.
In reply, chasing the target, Abishek Porel (55 off 53) and Gharami gave Bengal a flying start with 111-run partnership.
In the end, Karan Lal (37 not out) and Sumanta Gupta (30) scored crucial runs as Bengal went over the line easily, scoring 239/4 in 42.3 overs.
