In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on Wednesday, both the batters and bowlers dominated on Day 2.
In the first match, Poonish Mehta (7-41) was superb with the ball for Barisha Sporting Club against East Bengal Club. Earlier, Vikas Singh (7-37) helped East Bengal Club bundled out Barisha Sporting Club for 163 in the first innings. In reply, East Bengal Club scored 249, thanks to Agniv Pan (67). Barisha, in their second innings, were 34/1 stumps.
In other matches, Toufik Uddin smashed a brilliant 167 off 116 balls along with Sambit Roy (114) as Mohammedan Sporting Club posted 387 in the first innings. For Calcutta Customs Club, Sandipan bagged 5 for 86. In reply, Calcutta Customs were 76/3 at stumps. Nilkantha Das bagged 3 for 38.
Ravi Kumar (4-15) and Rajkumar Pal (4-59) were brilliant with the ball as Bhowanipore Club bundled out Mohun Bagan for 111 in their first innings. Anurag Tiwari scored a fighting 31. Earlier, Bhowanipore posted 307 in their first innings. Bhowanipore, in their second innings, scored 153/6 decl. to hand a tough target to Mohun Bagan. Jayojit Basu scored 51. Anurag bagged 4 for 46. Chasing the target, Mohun Bagan were 5 for no loss stumps.
Writam Porel (130 off 197), Pramod Chandila (51), Shreyansh Ghosh (51) helped Kalighat Club post 403/9 in the first innings. For Town Club, Yudhajit Guha (4-93), Geet Puri (3-80) and Subham Sarkar (2-62) impressed. In reply, Town Club were 160/3 at stumps. Akash Sarkar scored 46.
