In the CAB First Division League Group two-day encounters on Tuesday, both the batsmen and bowlers dominated on Day 2, displaying some outstanding performances.
In the first match, Divesh Singh (83), Wahid Mahfooz (58 not out), Debjyoti Ghosh (54) helped Ballygunge United Club beat Bhukailash Sporting Club by 5 wickets. Anshuman Pandey (91 not out), Md Modashir Mallick (57) helped Bhukailash Sporting Club score 329/9. Sandeep Yadav bagged 4 for 75. In reply, Ballygunge United Club chased it down scoring 330/5.
In other matches, Jay Goyal (4-38), Akshay Dullarwar (57), Ganesh Chanda (54) helped Belgachia United Club beat Police Athletic Club by 137 runs. Batting first Belgachia United Club posted 295. Police Athletic Club’s Anish Prasad bagged 5 for 72. In reply, Police Athletic Club were bundled out for 158.
Ayush Raj (4-49), Uttam Roy Chowdhury (63), Pankaj Shaw (46), Swapnil Choudhary (3-54) impressed as E.Rly Sports Association beat Kumartuli Institute by 3 wickets. Piyush Yadav (71) helped Kumartuli Institute post 193. In reply, E.Rly Sports Association scored 195/7. Ali Ahmed was impressive with the ball bagging 4 for 43.
Abhiprai Biswas (59), Soumyajit Mandal (44) helped Shibpur Institute beat Paikpara Sporting Club by 3 wickets. Basudev Ghosal (48) helped Paikpara Sporting Club post 227. Shibpur Institute’s Amit Kr Pandey and Narayan Rana bagged three wickets each. In reply, Shibpur Institute scored 233/7. Abhishek Sakuja bagged 5 for 64.
Kevin Almeida (61 not out), Gaurav Jathar (69 not out), Pintu (4-56), Himanshu (3-35) helped Aryan Club beat Tollygunge Agragami by 8 wickets. Tollygunge Agragami scored only 176. In reply, Aryan Club scored 180/2.
