In the CAB First Division Super League Group A encounters on the third and final day on Tuesday, both the batters and bowlers impressed, displaying some outstanding performances.
In the first match at JU Second Campus Ground, Lalit Yadav (9-36) was brilliant with the ball as Bhowanipore Club bagged first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Customs Club ended in a draw. Bhowanipore Club bundled out Calcutta Customs Club for just 76 in their first innings. In reply, Bhowanipore scored 111/1 decl. Jayojit Basu scored an unbeaten 68. Calcutta Customs, in their second innings, were 61/3 at stumps on the third and final day.
In the second match in Barasat, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Barisha Sporting Club match ended in a draw. Chinmay Jain (131) and Gitimoy Basu (103) helped Mohammedan Sporting Club score 303/7 decl. In reply, Barisha Sporting were 149/4 at stumps on the final day. Diganta Neogi scored 51. Vaibhav Yadav bagged four wickets.
In the third match in Kalyani, Writtick Chatterjee (103, 2-47) displayed an all-round show as East Bengal Club bagged first innings lead against Tapan Memorial Club after the match was drawn. Tapan Memorial Club were bowled out for 192 in their first innings. East Bengal’s Sumit Mohanta bagged four wickets. In reply, East Bengal scored 359/7 decl. Agniv Pan (64) and Amitoze Singh (55) also impressed. Rishabh Vivel bagged three wickets. In their second innings, Tapan Memorial Club, were 33/4 at stumps.
In the fourth match at Deshbandhu Park, Mohun Bagan’s Pradeep Kumar bagged an impressive 7 for 36 as Mohun Bagan took first innings lead after their match against Town Club ended in a draw. Town Club were bundled out for 123 in their first innings. Aishik Patel scored 51. In reply, Mohun Bagan scored 128/3 decl. Ankur Paul scored 55. Town Club, in their second innings, were 27/1 decl at stumps.
In the fifth match in Gayeshpur, Seazan Hossain (102 not out) impressed with the bat as United Club took first innings lead against Kalighat Club after the match was drawn. Kalighat Club score 245 in their first innings. United Club’s Sagen Murmu bagged three wickets. In reply, United Club scored 322/6 decl. Vineet Sharma bagged three wickets.
