Bengal batsmen fight back against Gujarat in Cooch Behar Trophy quarterfinals

Bengal batsmen made a late fightback on Day 2 against Gujarat in the Cooch Behar Trophy quarterfinals at the Eden Gardens on Monday.
Batting first, Gujarat scored 409 in their first innings, thanks to Rudra Pritesh Patel (208). Shivamm Bharati bagged 4 for 58 while Yudhajit Guha claimed three wickets. Bengal wicket-keeper Soumyadip Manna was superb behind the stumps, bagging 8 catches.
In reply, Bengal, after being reduced to 72/6, made a strong fightback to score 208/9 in their first innings at stumps on the second day. The hosts still trail by 201 runs.
Vishal Bhati (78), Aditya Roy (39), Debangshu Pakhira (27) and Yudhajit (22 not out) were the pick of the batsmen.
