In the 19 matches played in the Junior Under-18 Invitational One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament on Thursday, both the batters and bowlers impressed.
In the first match, Bhupendra Singh (227 not out, 1-24), Rupanjan Kanrar (94, 2-39) helped South Suburban Club beat Measurers Club by 166 runs.
In other matches, Sayan Paul (154 off 125), Md Hadis (3-35) helped Kumartuli Institute beat Shibpur Institute by 58 runs. Nitish Kumar (3-68) and Anubhav Das (83) impressed.
A superb knock of 169 off 92 balls by Bhoirob De Sarkar went in vain as Ballygunge United Club lost to Mauri Sporting Club by 6 wickets. Mousam Halder (31 not out, 4-27), Ishan Khatri (3-26), Saugata Mal (54), Riju Kumar Ram (57) impressed.
Ramij Raja (134 not out off 104, 1-1), Suryasish Chanda (3-12) helped Sporting Union beat Central Calcutta Sporting Club by 301 runs.
