Akash bags 6 to put Bengal on
top in Vijay Merchant Trophy

After a dominant show with the bat, the bowlers led by Akash Tarafdar (6-42) impressed immensely to put Bengal Under-16 team in a commanding position against Goa at the end of the second day in the Vijay Merchant Trophy match in Surat on Thursday.
Earlier, Bengal posted 321 in their first innings, thanks to Sachin Yadav (103), Agastya Shukla (66) and Rajdip Khan (63).
In reply, Goa, in their first innings, were 180/8 at stumps on Day 2, still trailing by 141 runs. Afrid scored a fine 73 for Goa. For Bengal, besides Akash, Agastya bagged 2 for 15.
