Bengal go down to Baroda in quarterfinals of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Shahbaz Ahmed’s fighting 55 off 36 balls was not enough as Bengal went down to Baroda by 41 runs in the quarterfinals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Batting first, Baroda scored 172/7 in 20 overs. For Bengal, Mohammad Shami, Kanishk Seth and Pradipta Pramanick bagged two wickets each.
In reply, Bengal came close to the target but fell short, scoring 131 in 18 overs. Besides Shahbaz, Ritwik Roy Chowdhury (29) and Abishek Porel (22) were among the runs.
