Sachin hits 102 as Bengal fightback
to post 305/7 in Vijay Merchant Trophy

Leading from the front, skipper Sachin Yadav smashed a brilliant unbeaten 102 off 141 balls as Bengal Under-16 team made a superb fightback to post 305/7 in their first innings at stumps on Day 1 against Goa in the Vijay Merchant Trophy match in Surat on Wednesday.
Besides Sachin, Agastya Shukla (66) and Rajdip Khan (63) impressed with the bat for Bengal.
Opting to bat, Bengal were reduced to 51/5 inside 18 overs. From there on, against the run of play, Rajdip and Agastya added a much-needed 113 runs for the sixth wicket to take team past 160.
Later on, Sachin played a captain’s knock to guide team to a commanding total at the end of the day.
