Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club, Shyambazar Club, E.Rly.Sports Association, BNR Recreation Club and Bhukailash Sporting Club registered easy wins in their respective league-stage matches of the CAB First Division One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament on Monday.
In the first match, Rohit Ram (109 not out), Pardeep Parashar (3-28), Sagar Sharma (3-20) helped Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club beat Shibpur Institute by 7 wickets. Batting first, Shibpur Institute scored 208/9 in 45 overs. Chasing 199 to win in 43 overs, Calcutta Port Trust Sports Club scored 200/3.
In other matches, Aditya Varma (89), Kunal Kumar (3-24), Uzar Khan (2-18) helped Shyambazar Club beat Calcutta Police Club by 36 runs. Batting first, Shyambazar Club scored 221/5. Chasing 208 in 42 overs, Calcutta Police Club scored only 171.
Pankaj Shaw (78 not out), Tanmoy Pramanick (2-26), Wazid Hussain (2-14), Amit Kumar (59 not out) helped E.Rly.Sports Association beat YMCA (College Branch) by 8 wickets. Batting first, YMCA scored 197. Chasing 163 in 37 overs, E.Rly.Sports Association scored 164/2.
Vinayakan Nair (41, 4-43), Saurabh Srivastav (64) helped Bhukailash Sporting Club beat Police Athletic Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, Police Athletic Club scored 228. Chasing 199 in 39 overs, Bhukailash scored 199/7. Subhajit Ghosh (76) impressed.
Mohammad Irfan (58, 1-33), P Someshwar Rao (2-38) helped BNR Recreation Club beat Ballygunge United Club by 1 wicket. Batting first, Ballygunge scored 220/7 in 45 overs. Chasing 163 in 33 overs, BNR scored 164/9. Subham Singh (64), Sudhanshu Srivastava (4-32) impressed.
