Akash, Ankush shine with ball as Bengal
take 1st innings lead in Vijay Merchant Trophy

An excellent batting performance followed by a superb effort with the ball helped Bengal Under-16 team bag first innings lead after their Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Tamil Nadu ended in a draw in Surat on Sunday.
Akash Tarafdar (5-37) and Ankush Chakraborty (4-73) helped Bengal bundle out Tamil Nadu for just 197 to grab the first innings lead.
Bengal, earlier, posted a massive 428/6 decl in their first innings, thanks to Atmaja Mondal (113) and Rajesh Mondal (107).
Following on, Tamil Nadu were 108/3 at stumps on the third and final day. Akash and Sachin Yadav bagged a wicket each.
