Dominant Bengal storm into
knockouts of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

A superb bowling effort followed by a dominant performance by the batsmen helped Bengal seal a place in the knockouts of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
A comfortable seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan on Thursday in their final Group A game powered Bengal to 24 points from seven games, with six wins.
Abishek Porel (78, 48b, 7×4s, 4×6s) was brilliant once again, giving Bengal a flying start at the top.
Skipper Sudip Kumar Gharami (50 n.o, 45b, 4×4s, 1×6), Shahbaz Ahmed (18 not out, 2-21), Mohammed Shami (3-26), Sayan Ghosh (2-27) and Writtick Chatterjee (1-15) were the other top performers for Bengal.
Batting first, Rajasthan scored 153/9 in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Bengal went over the line comfortably, scoring 154/3 in 18.3 overs.
