Pijush (4-12), Sandeep (35, 2-0), Sayan (45) impress in CAB 1st Div One-Day meet

Kolkata Union Sporting Club, Kumartuli Institute, YMCA (College Branch) and Town Club registered easy victories in their respective league-stage matches in the CAB First Division One-Day League-cum-knockout tournament on Sunday.
In the first match, Pijush Laha (4-12), Rahamat Gayen (43) helped YMCA (College Branch) beat Shyambazar Club by 16 runs. Batting first, YMCA (College Branch) scored 132/5. In reply, Shyambazar Club scored 116.
In other matches, Anand Rao (39), Ayush Priyam Roy (1-5) helped Kolkata Union Sporting Club beat Anandabazar Patrika Sports Club by 2 wickets. Batting first, Anandabazar Patrika Sports Club scored 108/6. In reply, Kolkata Union Sporting Club scored 110/8. Aditya Kumar Giri bagged 3 for 13.
Sayan Paul (45 not out), Pawan (3-30) helped Kumartuli Institute beat Belgachia United Club by 5 runs. Batting first, Kumartuli Institute scored 144/4. In reply, Belgachia United Club scored 139/7.
Sandeep Tomar (35, 2-0), Subham Sarkar (2-30), Geet Puri (2-35) helped Town Club beat United Club by 1 wicket. Batting first, United Club scored 145. In reply, Town Club scored 149/9. Sukhmeet Singh bagged 3 for 31.
The other matches in the day were abandoned due to effect from last day’s rain.
