Bengal U-23 team ensure draw against Himachal Pradesh in Col C K Nayudu Trophy

Bengal Under-23 batsmen displayed a fighting effort to ensure a draw on the fourth and final day against Himachal Pradesh in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy match at the Eden Gardens on Monday.
Bengal, who bagged first innings lead against HP, collected 11 points (4 batting, 4 bowling, 3 points for draw) from the match. Bengal currently have 47 points from 5 games.
Chasing a challenging target on the final day, Shashank Singh (51), Sumit Nag (30), Harsh Dev Gautam (27), Prayas Ray Barman (20) and Sukhmeet Singh (10 not out) held their nerves to help Bengal ensure a draw.
Earlier, after bowling out HP for 294, Bengal posted a massive 425 in their first innings to bag the all-important first innings lead.
HP, in their second innings, scored 339 to hand a challenging target to Bengal. Prayas bagged four wickets while Ravi Kumar claimed three. Bengal, in their second innings, were 181/8 when stumps were drawn on the final day.
