United Club and Kidderpore Sporting Club registered comfortable victories in their respective group-stage matches in the J.C Mukherjee T20 Tournament on Monday.
In the first match, Rishabh Chaudhary (73 off 50), Avijit Mukherjee (33), Arjun Bhardwaj (23), Aniket Singh (22) and Irshad Alam (3-28) helped United Club beat Mohun Bagan by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Ankur Paul scored a brilliant unbeaten 83 off 55 balls to help Mohun Bagan post 177/4. In reply, United Club chased it down scoring 181/4.
In the second match, Sarul Kanwar (40), Badal Singh Balyan (31), Deepak Punia (3-13) helped Kidderpore Sporting Club beat Calcutta Customs Club by 30 runs.
Batting first, Kidderpore Sporting Club scored 147/9. In reply, Calcutta Customs Club scored only 117. Pritish Mondal (55), Ananta Saha (3-35) impressed for Calcutta Customs.
