Birbhum Ironman will take on Burdwan Blues in the second semifinal of the Inter District Senior Men's T20 Open Tournament after the both teams registered comfortable victories in their respective quarterfinal matches on Saturday.
In the third quarterfinal, Birbhum Ironman beat Howrah Diamonds by 2 runs. Arin Roy (58), Golam Mustafa (4-22) and Soham Misra (3-18) were the star performers.
Batting first, Birbhum Ironman posted 114. In reply, Howrah Diamonds were bundled out for 112. Dipak Kr Yadav bagged 4 for 14.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Burdwan Blues outclassed Biplabi Chandernagore by 20 runs. Subham Chatterjee scored a brilliant unbeaten 72 off 33 balls along with Saurabh Yadav (39 not out off 20). Sanjiv Kumar Singh (4-33) and Azaz Ansari (3-26) impressed with the ball for Burdwan.
Batting first, Burdwan Blues posted a massive 203/5. In reply, Biplabi Chandernagore managed only 183/9.
