Trophy semifinals after 11 years

Bengal Under-19 team stormed into the semifinals of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy after a dominant 96-run victory over Maharashtra in the quarterfinals in Rajkot on Sunday.
Bengal entered the last-four stage of the competition after 11 years. They last qualified back in 2013.
Skipper Chandrahas Dash led from the front with a brilliant 82 off 112 balls. Agniswar Das (73), player-of-the-match Vishal Bhati (4-23), Ashutosh Kumar (2-23) and Jeet Thakur (2-25) also impressed for Bengal.
Opting to bat, Bengal posted a challenging 269/9 in 49 overs.
In reply, Maharashtra were bundled out for 173 in 41.1 overs.
"It has been a team effort. Maharashtra is one of the strongest teams in the competition. To beat them in this manner is incredible. Every member of our team stepped up when it mattered. Now we must focus on our next match," Bengal U-19 head coach Sourashish Lahiri said.
