All eyes on Easwaran as confident Bengal face Bihar in Ranji match at home

All eyes will be on star Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran on his 100th First-Class match as Bengal face Bihar in their first home game of the Ranji Trophy season at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani on Friday.
Easwaran, who has been in sublime form lately scoring 7638 runs in his 99 First-Class games, will aim to make the match memorable with another big knock.
The Laxmi Ratan Shukla-coached side will go into game after bagging three points from their opener against Uttar Pradesh.
“We have done our preparations well. It is our first game of the season at home so we will aim to give our best and gather maximum points. It will be a good game tomorrow,” head coach Shukla said.
The Bengal top-order batters will be high on confidence after a dominant show against UP. Easwaran scored a brilliant unbeaten 127 while Sudip Chatterjee (116 & 93) and Sudip Kumar Gharami (90) also contributed with big runs.
Middle-order batsmen skipper Anustup Majumdar and Abishek Porel will aim to get runs under their belt with some crucial matches coming up.
Wriddhiman Saha is set to miss out due to back spasms. Avilin Ghosh is likely to come into the team.
Besides the duo of Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal and Md Kaif, Rohit Kumar is likely to make it to the side.
In the previous meeting between the two teams, Bengal thumped Bihar by an innings and 204 runs at the Eden Gardens in the group-stage clash last season. Easwaran scored an unbeaten 200 in the match.
