Bengal U-19 team bags second successive
victory in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Bengal Under-19 team registered their second straight victory in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy campaign after a dominant seven-wicket win over Meghalaya in Cuttack on Sunday.
Bengal skipper Chandrahas Dash led from the front with a brilliant match-winning unbeaten 64 off 42 balls. He smashed five boundaries and four sixes. He was well supported by Vishal Bhati (48 off 34 balls).
In the bowling department, Debangshu Pakhira (2-30), Ganoranjan Kapat (1-18), Jeet Thakur (1-22), Vishal (1-16) and Ashutosh Kumar (1-44) were impressive, restricting Meghalaya to a low score.
Batting first, despite captain Dipankar’s fighting 72, Meghalaya lost wickets at the other end and managed to score only 149/7 in 50 overs.
In reply, chasing a small target, Bengal went over the line comfortably, scoring 150/3 in 17.4 overs.
Earlier, in their first match, Bengal thrashed Assam by a massive 229 runs on Friday. Opener Ankit Chatterjee smashed a brilliant 115 off 91 balls with seven boundaries and 9 sixes. He got good supported from Agniswar Das (49) and Ashutosh Kumar (46 not out). Among the bowlers, Debangshu impressed bagging 4 for 23.
