Murali hopes improved performance from Bengal team

Vision 2020 mentor Muttiah Muralitharan today said that he hoped both the senior Bengal and U23 teams to give a much better account of themselves this season and live up to the potential they have displayed so far.
“We had a very good practice session. We practiced both indoors and outdoors thanks to better climate. We will play a few practice matches and see who is going to be in the main side. I am very hopeful that they will do well in the upcoming Ranji Trophy and the U23 tournament,” Murali said.
Asked about the way the players are maturing, he said: “Boys are getting experienced. We have been doing it for the last two years and now they have begun to think and improve. It is up to them to go out and perform now. Last year they gave a good account of themselves, though were a bit unlucky. Hopefully they will do much better this year.”
He also praised V V S Laxman, T A Sekhar, Sairaj Bahutule and the support staff for their commitment towards the team and how the whole unit has worked tirelessly to give the best preparations to the team.
