Murshidabad Kings book semifinal berth in Bengal Pro T20 League

Murshidabad Kings became the third team to book a place in the semifinals of the inaugural Bengal Pro T20 league after a six-run victory over Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Murshidabad Kings join Sobisco Smashers Malda and Rashmi Medinipur Wizards in the last four stage. The fourth and final team to make the semis will be decided in the next couple of games.
After their fourth win in six games, Murshidabad Kings climb to the second spot in the points table with nine points. The Sudip Kumar Gharami-led side still have a match to play.
On the other hand, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers, after the loss in their final league game, go down to fourth spot with eight points from seven games having won four.
Agniv Pan (48 off 35), Nitin Verma (3-14), Sukhmeet Singh (3-22) were the star performers for Murshidabad Kings.
Batting first, Murshidabad Kings posted 133/8 in 20 overs.
Sayan Ghosh and Karan Lal bagged three wickets each.
In reply, despite a brilliant counter-attacking innings by Ronit Ghosh (39 not out off 16) at the end, Kolkata Tigers fell short, scoring 127/9 in 20 overs.
