Sobisco Smashers Malda seal semifinal spot, Harbour
Diamonds lose six on the trot in Bengal Pro T20 League

Sobisco Smashers Malda became the first team to book a place in the semifinals of the inaugural Bengal Pro T20 league after a two-run victory over Harbour Diamonds at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
On the other hand, it has been a season to forget for the Harbour Diamonds, who suffered their sixth straight defeat of the competition.
Sobisco Smashers Malda, with five wins from six games, are at the top of the points table with 10 points while Harbour Diamonds, who are at the bottom of the table, are yet to gather a point from the league.
Writtick Chatterjee (37 off 21 balls, 2-25), Ayan Bhattacharjee (31 not out off 10), Writam Porel (36 off 31), Ramesh Prasad (2-29) and Geet Puri (2-40) were the star performers for Sobisco Smashers Malda.
Batting first, Sobisco Smashers Malda posted a challenging 173/7 in 20 overs. Anurag Tiwari and Subham Sarkar bagged two wickets each for Harbour Diamonds.
In reply, Harbour Diamonds were in a spot of bother losing half the side with just 47 on the board inside 8 overs.
Against the run of play, Poonish Mehta (42 off 20) played a fighting knock but Harbour Diamonds fell short in the end, scoring 171/9 in 20 overs.
