Skipper Dhara Gujjar led from the front with a match-winning 60 as Adamas Howrah Warriors down Rashmi Medinipur Wizards by 7 wickets in the Women’s Bengal Pro T20 League at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus on Saturday.
Enroute her 59-ball knock, Dhara hit nine boundaries.
Put into bat, Rashmi Medinipur Wizards managed to post 117/2 in 20 overs.
Despite Trishita Sarkar (42) and Dyuti Paul (37) giving Rashmi Medinipur Wizards a fine start, some tight bowling by Adamas Howrah Warriors in the middle and end overs restricted Medinipur Wizards to a low score.
For Howrah Warriors, Prativa and Susmita Ganguly bagged a wicket each.
Chasing a tricky target, skipper Dhara batted sensibly from the start while Shrabani Paul (28 not out) kept her cool at the end as Howrah Warriors raced to a comfortable victory, scoring 118/3 in 19.2 overs.
For Medinipur Wizards, Zoya Laskar and Preyosree Pandey bagged a wicket each.
