Gharami, Nitin star as Murshidabad
Kings win in Bengal Pro T20 League

Sudip Kumar Gharami produced a captain’s knock as he smashed a match-winning unbeaten 48 off 34 balls while Nitin Verma (3-21) also impressed as Murshidabad Kings beat Servotech Siliguri Strikers by 7 wickets in the Bengal Pro T20 League at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
Besides Gharami and Nitin, Shuvam Dey (37), Jeet Thakur (2-1) and Vikas Singh (2-13) were brilliant for Murshidabad Kings.
In his fine knock, Gharami hit four boundaries and two sixes, while Shuvam struck five fours.
Batting first, Servotech Siliguri Strikers were bundled out for 113 in 19.1 overs.
In reply, Murshidabad Kings chased it down comfortably scoring 118/3 in 17.5 overs. Siliguri Strikers’ Akash Deep bagged 3 for 19.
Earlier, opting to bat, Siliguri Strikers were in a spot of bother at 55/8 in 10.6 overs.
However, lower-order batters Vikas (31) and Akash Deep (30) added 56-run stand for the ninth wicket to take team to a respectable total.
Chasing the target, despite losing two early wickets, Gharami and Shuvam combined brilliantly to add a much-needed 71-run partnership for the third wicket to Murshidabad Kings closer to victory.
