Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers script fine victory in Women’s Bengal Pro T20 League

A superb all-round performance powered Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers to a three-run victory over Adamas Howrah Warriors in the Women’s Bengal Pro T20 League at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus on Thursday.
The star performers for Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers were Mita Paul (57 not out off 49 balls), Mamata Kisku (53 not out off 48), Ananya Haldar (3-23) and Ariktha Manna (3-26).
Batting first, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers managed to post 125/3 in 20 overs. Susmita Ganguly bagged 2 for 20 for Adamas Howrah Warriors.
In reply, Adamas Howrah Warriors fell short, scoring 122/9 in 20 overs.
Earlier, put into bat, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers were in trouble at 24/3 in 6.2 overs.
From there on, against the run of play, skipper Mita and Mamata batted superbly to add an impressive unbeaten 101-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take team to a fighting total.
While Mita struck four boundaries and 2 sixes, Mamata hit seven boundaries in her innings.
Chasing a tricky target, Adamas Howrah Warriors lost wickets at regular intervals to put themselves in a spot of bother.
Despite skipper Dhara Gujjar (22), Puja Rajak (28) and Prativa (24) playing fighting knocks, Howrah Warriors failed to cross the line.
